VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR part-time (20 hours p/wk Mon-Fri) Newtown location

Volunteers are an integral part of the Hospice operation and we would not be able to achieve our work without them.

This important role is responsible for coordinating the 260 volunteers who work in various roles in our inpatient unit in Newtown, and has up to five volunteers reporting directly to it.

The role includes:

  • Recruiting and selecting volunteers
  • Rostering
  • Organising events e.g. volunteer orientation, long service awards
  • Arranging volunteers for one off events or special circumstances
  • Managing offers of assistance from employee volunteers
  • Preparing data and statistics for reporting purposes

We are looking for someone with excellent relationship management and communication skills, strong administration skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced role. Being experienced working with volunteers and databases would be an advantage.
