The Board of Mary Potter Hospice is delighted to announce that it has appointed Brent Alderton as the new Chief Executive. Brent will start on 16 April.
Brent joins the Hospice most recently as chief executive of the Commerce Commission. He impressed the Board greatly with his competence and experience as a chief executive, his calm and friendly manner, and his ability to grasp the impact of the Hospice’s future strategy on the organisation, staff and patients.
“The Board believes that Brent is joining the Hospice at a time when his leadership will make a real difference to the work the Hospice does for the people of Wellington, Porirua and Kapiti,” said Board chair Mark Cassidy.
“The Hospice is facing many challenges as we gear up for an increase in the number of people who will need our caring and compassionate service. We are very confident that Brent will make a difference in this very important role.”
Brent has a BA (Hons) in Economics and an MA in Political Studies. Prior to his nine years at the Commerce Commission he worked in a range of public and private sector organisations, and in a variety of management roles.
