Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. Our core values of Respect, Compassion, Dignity, Hospitality and Stewardship are very important to us and we apply these to the people who work here as much as our patients and families.
The programme: We have embarked on a ‘Last Days of Life Community Care’ programme that will support people in their last days of life to stay in their own home. The programme enhances the
care provided by the main carers and other health care professionals in the last and precious days of life. The Last days of Life service is mainly offered as an overnight service.
The role: This role is based in patients’ homes to provide autonomous expert clinical palliative care support to people in the Last Days of Life Programme ensure all our last days of life community care patients receive the a high standard of care.
About you: You are a registered nurse with a current annual practicing certificate, and full driver’s license. A capable and dedicated professional with a strong interest in home based care, you will have experience in caring for people at end of life preferably within the palliative care sector.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake pre-employment health screening and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to Mary Potter Hospice’s satisfaction. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
