Mary Potter Hospice provides free and compassionate palliative care for the people of the Wellington region

The Programme: We provide a ‘Last Days of Life Community Care’ programme that supports people in their last days of life to stay in their own home. The programme enhances the care provided by the main carers and other health care professionals in the last and precious days of life. It is largely an overnight service.

The Role: This important role is based in patients’ homes to provide autonomous expert clinical palliative care support to ensure all our last days of life community care patients receive a high standard of care.

About you: We need  capable and dedicated professionals with a strong interest in home based care, who are experienced in caring for people at end of life. You will be a registered nurse with a current annual practicing certificate, and full driver’s license.

We offer: flexible hours, a comprehensive education programme, and free EAP services and  flu vaccinations. Mostly you have the opportunity to work alongside highly experienced multi-disciplinary teams in a strong and supportive team environment that enables you to really make a difference.
