Community Volunteer Lead (0.8 FTE)

Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We are currently recruiting for a motivated and experienced person to join the team as a Community Volunteer Lead. We have an Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community team working across the region. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and whānau.

The role:
In this role you will manage and co-ordinate the Clinical Service Volunteers across the community supporting patients and whānau in their homes while integrating a Compassionate Communities approach. You will manage change and continue to develop the new volunteer roles to meet the needs of our community.

You will need to:

  • Be an experienced leader, preferably with community health or volunteer experience
  • Have strong co-ordination and relationship management skills to manage appropriate matching and assignment of volunteers to patients and families in their homes
  • Have sound organisational planning and implementation skills
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to the multidisciplinary team approach to patient care.
