This is a new leadership role that will drive the People and Capability programme across the organisation. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director will be responsible for managing the organisation’s approach and development of People and Capability strategies to ensure support for the Hospice’s overall strategy and compliance with legislative requirements.
As Director People and Capability, you will play a key role in supporting the CEO and be accountable for managing and delivering on the strategic direction of the Hospice. This is a highly consultative role, providing advice to the executive to help drive and shape the culture. Ultimately you will ensure the alignment of the people strategy with the Hospice’s visions and values.
You will provide leadership and practical solutions in areas such as change management, people management, volunteering, workforce planning and performance. Ideally you will have proven experience dealing with a largely unionised workforce and volunteers. Your career will demonstrate an ability to think strategically and deliver operationally. You will enjoy leading, managing and coaching the members of the People and Capability team.
With a strong commitment to meet the broad remit of this role covering people, leadership, and workplace wellbeing, you will need proven resilience to flourish in a busy and ever-changing landscape.
The role is a permanent, part-time position, with the option to work four days per week.
