Palliative Care Pathway Programme

Mary Potter Hospice is excited to be offering an intensive learning opportunity for Registered Nurses to join our specialist Palliative Care Inpatient Unit Team, as a permanent team member, while developing specialist palliative care skills, knowledge and competencies.

This pathway is aimed at experienced nurses with an interest in palliative care, who want to develop as specialist palliative care nurses in a supportive environment.  We believe that transferable skills are an asset to the Hospice and that we can support you to develop specialist skills in the palliative care sector.

This pathway is for registered nurses who have no prior experience in palliative care.

  • Six month pathway starting 1 March 2022
  • Strong preceptor support to meet your individual needs during the pathway
  • Support to commence a Postgraduate Certificate in Palliative Care at the end of the pathway
  • Monthly clinical supervision
  • Ongoing support to integrate into the Inpatient Unit and community multi-disciplinary teams
  • Support to complete the Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP)
  • Fully funded access to internal training opportunities
  • Support to develop an individualised training and development plan to meet your ongoing needs
