Be valued for your talent and your heart.
Mary Potter Hospice provides free and compassionate palliative care. We don’t just treat an illness, we work closely with people and their whanau and families at the most important time of their lives.
We have vacancies right now for Registered Nurses to work hours to suit your life, in our In Patient Unit and also in the Community as part of our ‘last days of Life’ programme.
- Our community nurses work autonomously in people’s homes, so would suit experienced and confident palliative care providers.
- Our Inpatient unit provides a collegial team environment to either practice your existing palliative care expertise, or we will support you to develop your skills.
You will never be just a number to us, and neither will your patients. Everything about Hospice is very personal from making sure patients and their families get individualised meals to trying to help them complete their ‘bucket list’ – which might be going to a show, having the best quality time with families they can or even getting married. We are very conscious that this is the most important time for everyone. Our clinical and medical teams work very closely and we are small enough to ensure you can have close working relationships across the whole Hospice.
About you: You will be a registered nurse with a current annual practicing certificate, and full driver’s license. We can usually accommodate different levels of experience with ongoing support for development.
If you want to be a part of providing this very valuable and caring service then we would love to talk with you further. Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment health screening and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
Please send your application to Catherine Hart, PO Box 7442, Newtown, Wellington 6242 or email email@example.com For further information please contact Helen Golds, phone 381 0179.
