- Work in an environment that lets you make a difference
- Develop your expertise in palliative care
- Learn from our comprehensive education programme
Mary Potter Hospice is currently recruiting for Registered Nurses to work rostered and rotating shifts including night shift and also permanent night shift only, in our Inpatient Unit as we continue to grow New Zealand’s competence in palliative care.
We provide free and compassionate palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We don’t just treat an illness, we work closely with people and their whānau and families at the most important time of their lives.
Registered nurses interested in developing their professional skills are very welcome here. Our Inpatient Unit provides a collegial team environment to either practice your existing palliative care expertise, or we will support you to develop your skills.
You will never be just a number to us, and neither will your patients. Everything about Hospice is very personal from making sure patients and their families get individualised meals to trying to help them complete their ‘bucket list’ – which might be going to a show, having the best quality time with families they can or even getting married. We are very conscious that this is the most important time for everyone. Our clinical and medical teams work very closely and we are small enough to ensure you can have close working relationships across the whole Hospice.
You will need to have NZ Nursing Council registration with a current annual practicing certificate. If you have a recognised post-graduate certificate in palliative care that would be great, however, if you’re just starting out in palliative care, you will be supported to develop your skills.
We offer a welcoming work environment, support for further development, health and wellbeing activities, and the chance to use your skills directly in the community. Salary will be in accordance with the Four Hospice NZNO Multi-Employer Collective Agreement.
Please send a cover letter, CV and application form to Catherine Hart, Mary Potter Hospice, PO Box 7442, Newtown 6242 or email Catherine.Hart@marypotter.org.nz
