Vacancy – Medical Officer in Palliative Care (Full-time, part-time negotiable)

January 29th, 2020

Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We have a 12 bed Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community Team. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and their families.

We are currently recruiting for a Medical Officer to join our medical team working across our Inpatient and Community teams providing comprehensive palliative care and hospice experience. This role is an opportunity to learn about specialist palliative care and includes the option of expert mentoring support to undertake a Diploma in Palliative Medicine.

Our core values of Mana/Respect, Aroha/Compassion, Rangatiratanga/Dignity, Manaakitanga/Hospitality and Kaitiakitanga/Stewardship are very important to us and we apply these to the people who work here as much as our patients and whānau. We are committed to our staff wellness and offer free EAP services and other wellness incentives in a relaxed and welcoming work environment. The Wellington region is a diverse and beautiful area, from stunning beaches and rugged scenery to the best coffee in the world.

If you would like to join us and contribute to the future of Mary Potter Hospice and palliative care in New Zealand, we would love to talk with you further.

Please send your application including a cover letter, CV and Mary Potter Hospice application form to Catherine Hart, Executive PA, PO Box 7442, Newtown, Wellington 6242 or email catherine.hart@marypotter.org.nz
