Medical Team

The medical team works in partnership with the wider multi-disciplinary team at Mary Potter Hospice to provide specialist palliative care. We provide an additional level of expertise in managing the complex symptoms and situations that can arise within the context of palliative care, and build on the general palliative care that is provided by your primary care team.

Your primary health care team, such as your general practitioner, will continue to oversee your medical care by providing ongoing management of your medical conditions, ongoing prescriptions and generalist palliative care. It is very important, therefore, that you continue to visit your primary care provider regularly while you are under hospice care.

The medical team also has an important role in education, both within the hospice and externally and we work nationally in palliative care initiatives to support hospices throughout the country.
