How to donate goods

Our Hospice Shops rely on your generous quality donations to keep their doors open.

Our Hospice Shops rely completely on donations and we could not open our doors without your generosity.

March 2024 update: We’re currently looking for good quality winter clothing and furniture. Thank you!

We appreciate quality donations and gratefully accept these in a number of ways. We’re unable to accept donations that are not in a good condition. This includes goods that are ripped, stained or broken. Please read our donation guide for more information on what we do and don’t accept.

Drop-off donations in store

Thank you for thinking of Mary Potter Hospice and for taking the time to select the items that you wish to donate to us. We kindly ask that you please drop-off your donations at any of our eight Hospice Shops during opening hours only so we can gratefully accept your pre-loved goods and treat them with the respect they deserve.

Please do not dump any donated goods outside our stores after hours. It is very expensive for us to remove these dumped goods, which results in less funds raised for the Hospice.

Free collection service

For larger items such as furniture, appliances or estate lots, we provide a free collection service from your home or business. It is essential to book your free collection, and bookings must be made at least three days in advance to your preferred collection time.

We are happy to collect goods in the Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti. If you are located in the Hutt Valley or beyond Waikanae, please contact Te Omanga Hospice or Arohanui Hospice.
