Local couple say Hospice has been amazing

September 2nd, 2025

From a young age, Tom has loved books. Today, his home in Paraparaumu holds more than 6,000 volumes collected over 75 years. But alongside his love of books, Tom and his wife Fiona have also discovered something else that means a lot to them – the wrap-around care of Mary Potter Hospice.

From visits at home to emotional and practical support, Hospice has become a steady presence in their lives. “The time and attention you get from everyone at Mary Potter is amazing. You never feel you’re being a nuisance – and you feel you’re being heard,” says Fiona.

Tom and Fiona’s story show what Hospice is really about – not just the last days, but living well at home, with care that wraps around the whole person and their family.
