We couldn’t provide our services as we do now without the hundreds of generous and committed volunteers who fulfil a wide range of roles across Mary Potter Hospice, assisting in the effective running of our Hospice. Become a Hospice volunteer today!

We’re currently looking to fill these volunteer roles:

  • Community Companions
  • Online Retail team members (Newlands)
  • Retail Shop Assistants across our eight Hospice shops
  • Day Hospice Cooks (Kāpiti)
  • Volunteer Truck Hands
  • Hospitality support Inpatient Unit (Newtown)

We’ve got a range of other roles which are currently filled, but would love to hear from you if you’re interested in any of them in the future: Admin/education/finance support, bereavement support, biographer, car groomer, driver, equipment service, gardener, groundsperson, dog visitor, florist, meal service, musician, receptionist, sewer, kitchen assistant, maintenance, painter, remembrance, retail copywriter, volunteer advisory team and support services, warehouse.

Whether you want to get involved weekly, monthly or occasionally – there’ll be a role for you. All Mary Potter Hospice volunteers attend an orientation and specific training is given for each role from the volunteer’s manager and team. Volunteers are provided with ongoing guidance and health and safety training as well as support from their supervisor.
