Can you join Leonie in her simple act of compassion?

When Leonie began donating a dollar a day to Mary Potter Hospice, she didn’t expect that one day she would become a Hospice patient.

Every day at Mary Potter Hospice, we get to meet incredible people. People who inspire and remind us of the huge difference even simple acts of kindness can make.

Leonie’s connection with Mary Potter Hospice began not with grand gestures, but with a simple act of compassion. Several years ago, she began pledging a dollar a day to the Hospice, never considering that one day she would find herself being cared for as a patient.

Leonie’s life was filled with dedication and service to others. During her 50 years as a dental therapist, she was a friendly face for countless young people. And her attitude to work embodied her determination to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Leonie’s husband Clive explains, “Leonie said she wanted to keep working until she was 70, and she did! She retired at the Hospice. We celebrated with a bottle of champagne, and the whole family was there.”

It was a privilege for our Hospice to be here for Leonie and her family. Her generosity throughout her life helped make that possible, and we need your support now to continue being here for others.

Inspired by Leonie’s commitment to Mary Potter Hospice, and the care she received, Clive continues to support in her memory. He too became a member of our Starlight Circle, our group of regular givers, and now donates each month to the Hospice.

Clive extends a heartfelt invitation to you to join him in ensuring that Mary Potter Hospice can be here for others now and in the future. “I’m pleased to continue the support that Leonie started,” said Clive. “It was a great place for her to be.”

Can you too give a dollar a day, to be there for people and families in our community who find themselves needing the support of the Hospice?

Whatever you can contribute, no matter how large or small, helps make a profound difference in the lives of those served by the Mary Potter Hospice community. Thank you!
