NZCT has supported Mary Potter Hospice since 2002, helping to fund everything from building maintenance to patient meals, and salaries for medical, nursing and ancillary staff.

In 2008 there were two grants totalling $90,000 towards painting, scaffolding and labour, and Inpatient unit meals. In 2009 a grant of $20,000 helped to replace the roof of the Hospice building in Newtown. In 2010 a further grant of $50,000 went towards refurbishing the kitchen and dining room in Newtown. Since 2013 NZCT has contributed every year towards the salaries of nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and other clinical staff.

NZCT National Grants Manager Ben Hodges says: “We were delighted to be able to continue our long support of the hospice with a $100,000 grant to the Te Whare Rānui project. It’s a fantastic development that will ensure Mary Potter is able to best deliver on what the community needs from a modern hospice.”
