While we plan for the future home of our Inpatient Unit at Kenepuru, our current Inpatient Unit in Newtown will continue to care for patients and whānau for some time yet.
That is why we are giving parts of the Newtown Inpatient Unit a simple refresh, repainting walls, doors and ceilings where needed.
Director Clinical Services Donna Gray says the focus is on making sure the environment continues to feel welcoming and cared for.
“When patients and whānau come to Mary Potter Hospice, we want them to feel comfortable, calm and cared for from the moment they arrive.”
“While we are looking ahead to Kenepuru, this is still home to our patients, whānau, staff and volunteers today. They deserve an environment that reflects the warmth and dignity of the care we provide.”
It is a small but important way of caring for the people who need us now, while work continues to create a purpose-built Inpatient Unit for the future.
