The Tree of Remembrance will be in every Farmers store from today until Christmas eve. Anyone who makes a donation to support their local hospice will receive a remembrance card, they can then write a message for a loved one and place on the dedicated tree within the Farmers store. 100% of all donations go to the local hospice service.
Another way to support Mary Potter Hospice at Farmers is to buy this year’s collectable bauble. Available from all Farmers stores and online, they are $10 with the full purchase price donated to the local hospice service.
The bauble for this year is Ngaru – which is Māori for wave. It represents the journey of life, multiple waves coming together as whānau. The 2019 bauble was designed by contemporary Māori artist Spencer Bellas, Spencer was deeply moved by the care provided to his whānau by hospice prior to the death of his much loved uncle in 2017.
The Tree of Remembrance and bauble available at Farmers is part of the biggest national fundraising drive of the year for Hospice New Zealand. In five years, Farmers with the people of Aotearoa have raised $3.4 million dollars for hospice nation-wide, with 100% of everything donated in each community going to the local hospice service.
Please support Mary Potter Hospice by donating to the Tree of Remembrance and placing a card for a loved one or by purchasing a hospice bauble next time you shop at Kilbirnie, Lambton Quay, Porirua or Paraparaumu.
