Mary Potter Hospice Appoints Three New Trustees

Wellington, New Zealand – 30 January 2026 – Mary Potter Hospice has appointed three new members to its Board of Trustees, strengthening its governance as demand for palliative care continues to grow across the Wellington region.

The new trustees are Linda Clark, Nadine Gray, and Phillip Jacques, each bringing significant expertise in governance, health leadership, finance, and community service.

Linda Clark is a Wellington-based lawyer and litigator, and a partner at Dentons Kensington Swan. Prior to her legal career, Linda was an award-winning journalist and broadcaster. She has extensive governance experience, having served on the boards of Television New Zealand, New Zealand On Air, the NZ Drug Foundation, READ NZ, Rare Disorders NZ, and Wellington College. Linda is committed to supporting the Wellington community and contributing her skills and experience to the work of Mary Potter Hospice.

Nadine Gray brings extensive clinical leadership experience and a strong commitment to advancing Māori health outcomes. She is currently a member of the National Clinical Leadership Team at Health New Zealand, where she helps ensure clinical expertise underpins strategic decisions, particularly in service design and delivery. Nadine’s previous roles include National Chief Nurse at Te Aka Whai Ora Māori Health Authority, Clinical Chief Advisor Nursing at Manatū Hauora | Ministry of Health, and Māori Clinical Nurse Specialist in Cancer Care at Capital & Coast DHB. She holds a Master of Health Sciences with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Nursing, is a board member of Te Tāwharau o Te Whakatōhea, and an adjunct teaching fellow at Victoria University of Wellington.

Phillip Jacques brings more than 30 years of senior executive leadership and governance experience. A Chartered Accountant and Member of the Institute of Directors, he currently serves on five boards and seven Audit & Risk Committees, chairing three. His career includes senior executive roles across major government organisations, as well as work on the Government’s independent Gateway Review programme, providing assurance on major investment decisions. With Te Ātiawa o Te Waka-a-Māui iwi affiliation, Phillip is committed to governance that delivers meaningful outcomes for communities.
