Over the Christmas period, many of you helped turn generosity into something tangible for patients and whānau. From gift wrapping stations to the Tree of Remembrance, every small act of kindness became part of a bigger story — one of comfort, connection, and care.
Gift Wrapping for Mary Potter Hospice
Over the Christmas period, our gift-wrapping fundraiser were ready to wrap just about anything — from books to stuffed toys — for a gold coin donation per gift. Alongside gift wrapping, we also had Christmas Raffle tickets available for purchase, with all donations supporting the services provided by Mary Potter Hospice.
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing community partners who helped make this possible — and an extra special thank you to Made Paper Co, Pan Pacific Marketing, and Ribbon and Blues for generously donating their gorgeous wrapping paper. It’s these behind-the-scenes contributions that bring moments of joy to life.
Remembering Loved Ones with the Farmers Tree of Remembrance
Christmas can be a time of reflection as much as celebration. This year, many of you chose to remember loved ones in a beautiful way by supporting the Hospice NZ Christmas Bauble and Tree of Remembrance campaign at Farmers.
When you purchased in-store at Farmers Kilbirnie, Lambton Quay, Porirua (North City), or Paraparaumu, 100% of the bauble purchase price was donated directly to Mary Potter Hospice.
This year’s bauble design featured Christmas Holly – a much-loved symbol of protection, good fortune, eternal life, and resilience. These qualities reflect the compassion and strength found in hospice communities throughout Aotearoa.
Your kindness is beautiful.
Every bauble purchased, every message hung on the tree, and every gold coin donation helped Mary Potter Hospice provide comfort, care, and compassion for families in our community this Christmas.
Thank you to Farmers and Hospice NZ – Living Every Moment for growing this special tradition of giving — and thank you to everyone who chose to make a difference this festive season.
