The Hospice provides a biography service for patients who would like to have their life story recorded.
It is a free service provided by trained volunteer biographers. The confidentiality of the biographer is assured.
People can record memories from their life or perhaps letters to specific people in their family. Photos can be included and the biography can be as short or as long as is wanted.
A biography volunteer can make home visits or meet at one of the Hospice bases in Newtown, Kapiti or Porirua. Sessions are usually no more than an hour at a time.
The final approved biography will be presented as a bound copy and one electronic copy.
We can also provide a copy of the transcript on a memory stick.
Please talk to a member of the Hospice team involved in your care if you have any queries.
