Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy in hospice care aims to achieve the best quality of life for both patients and their family or whānau.

Physiotherapy helps our patients to maintain their independence and safety. Physiotherapy can assist with issues such as joint mobility problems, techniques to help control breathlessness, and establish an exercise programme to maintain function and independence.

The Hospice’s Physiotherapist works closely with other health specialists at the Hospice and in the community. Our Physiotherapist may also work with family, whānau and carers to share ways to support their loved ones with physical movement.
