Aged Residential Care (ARC) Partnership Nurses

Care and support to people living in Aged Residential Care

The ARC partnership nursing service is an advisory service, offering care and support to people living in Aged Residential Care facilities, with specialist palliative care needs, across Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti.

At Mary Potter Hospice, we have two registered nurses in our specialist palliative advisory service.

The sense of loss and grief, often associated with being unable to continue caring for yourself or a family or whānau member, combined with failing health, can make this a very stressful time for many.

If you, or a member of your whānau, are being transferred to a residential care facility from Mary Potter Hospice for continuing care, your facility GP will become your primary care provider alongside the facility staff.  These facilities collaborate and consult with the Hospice partnership nurses and wider multi-disciplinary team who can offer advice and support in relation to specialist palliative care needs.
